Liberty died inside a patrol car on June 29.

Officer Gore has been given the maximum discipline without termination, a 15-day suspension, without pay.

The Hunt County District Attorney Joel Littlefield declined prosecution of the case saying the officer's actions did not constitute a crime.

Greenville Police Chief Dan Busken says, "The loss of Liberty is a tragedy for the Greenville Police Department and for the community. A thorough investigation was conducted and the case was turned over to the Hunt County Attorney for review. The County Attorney did not find evidence that indicated that Officer Gore acted recklessly. based on the internal review of the case, it was determined that the officer should be disciplined.
