UPDATE: Baby identified in fatal weekend wreck

UPDATE 3:55pm: Longview Police identified the 21-year-old driver as Maritza Renteria. The one-year-old killed in the accident has been identified as Jayden Galvan.

Officials say Jayden was buckled into a car seat in the back seat.

Renteria and one passenger, 20-year-old Heriberto Galvan were transported to the hospital and are in critical condition.

Two other passengers, Nicholas Delgado, 12, and Desral Barriere Jr., 21, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.


UPDATE: KLTV has learned that a baby, who was a passenger in the back seat of a vehicle that left the roadway and struck two cars in a parking lot, was killed in the accident that happened early Sunday morning.


LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Police say a single-vehicle accident claimed one life early Sunday morning in Longview.

Officials say the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into two unoccupied vehicles in the parking lot of a business in the 3500 block of Loop 281, just before 3 am.

It is unknown what caused the driver to leave the roadway.
