It was wet and cold but that didn't stop hundreds of folks from showing up to support the American Heart Association Saturday by walking. Led by this year's heart survivor, 2-year-old Evie Rose Bud, the group took off at Rose Redman Park. Bud has survived multiple surgeries to correct a heart condition and has been supported fully by the AMA. The group has sponsored walks like this in Tyler for more than 10 years. Organizers say they'll have to total things up to know just how much money was raised today, but say all of it will go towards research and treatment.
