PATH's annual School Supply Train collection for school supplies will continue through the end of the month. Donations are being accepted at PATH, all Tyler-area fire stations, Lonestar Harley Davidson, Kelly Federeal Credit Union, Teacher's Cooperative Credit Union and Select Power Sport in Lindale. Donors may wish to donate money for the purchase of supplies. Monetary donations can be mailed to PATH, 402 W. Front St., Tyler, 75702, or online at
"Our goal is to provide supplies for about 21,000 children in Smith County," said Becky Duncan, Community Outreach Coordinator for PATH. "We provide supplies to 65 Smith County schools - elementary, middle and high schools. There are so many kids who deserve a fresh start this coming school year. It really makes such a difference in a child's life when they have the tools for success when they begin in the fall. We hope this year to reach our goal, and we feel confident we will with the support of this generous community."
PATH will distribute the supplies to the schools in August before the 2011-2012 school year begins.
Supplies being collected include:

  • Wide & college-ruled notebook paper
  • Fiskars blunt-tip scissors
