LONE STAR, TX (KLTV) - Lone Star authorities nab two men trying to steal an ATM from a local bank.
Around 1:00 am Wednesday, Lone Star Police Sergeant Laake responded to a broken window call at the Lone Star State Bank.
When she arrived on the scene and walked around the building she noticed a white truck sitting in the parking lot that quickly turned off its headlights. Ross and Jackson were located a short time later near the bank.
Surveillance video from the bank shows Ross inside the bank rocking the ATM machine back and forth and while being interrogated one of the two suspects confessed to trying to steal the ATM machine.
Authorities also found a large chain hooked to the back of the truck. Sergeant Laake was assisted by Upshur County SO, Morris County SO and the Daingerfield Police Department.
Ross and Jackson could possibly be linked to other ATM thefts in Upshur, Camp and Morris Counties.
Both Ross and Jackson were booked into the Morris County Jail on charges of possession of stolen vehicle. Charges are pending for both on attempted ATM theft.
