RUSK, TX (KLTV) - On Wednesday July 27th at approx 5:00 A.M. a truck struck a telephone pole on US 69 in the city of Rusk. The telephone pole line were knocked down with the cable falling into the roadway.
Within a few minutes a 1999 Harley Davidson driven by Mark Edward Schnackenberg struck the cable causing him to lose control of the motorcycle and crashing in the roadway.
The driver of the motorcycle was transported to ETMC in Tyler, where he remains in critical condition with head injuries. He was not wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time fo the crash.
Mark Edward Schnackenberg is 44-years-old from Gonzales, La. He was a welder working on the power plant in Sacul, Tx.
Mr. Schnackenberg was staying at the KOA campground in Rusk at the time of the accident, and was on his way to work when the accidnet occured. He was due to move to Florida Friday.
The Rusk Police Department needs the publics help in locating a 2003 to 2009 Dogde truck. The truck will be a 3/4 ton or one ton truck. The turck will have damage to the passenger side with the mirror missing and the passenger side window broken. The truck may have a welding bed or steel bed replacing the regular pickup bed. This bed will ahve damage to the passenger side also. Any help the public can give will be appreciated.
