DALLAS, TX (KLTV) - All eyes, were on the best players at Big 12 Media Day. That included East Texan Kendall Wright.
"I play every week and try to get better," said Baylor senior.
"We think he's (Wright) as good as anybody in the conference," said Baylor head coach Art Briles.
Teaming with quarterback Robert Griffin III, Pittsburg's Kendall Wright has helped the Baylor program grow from near obscurity to conference contender.
"He's definitely overlooked a lot by ratings," said Griffin III. "But he's one of the best receivers in the Big 12."
The former Pirate burst onto the stage last year with 78 catches, the most in a season for Baylor. His 194 grabs are an all-time best. He's on the verge of the most yards in school history
"He's been a great player for us the last few years and he'll have a great senior season," said Briles.
Wright's performance at receiver is even more impressive when you consider he played quarterback in high school.
"Everyday I have to go out and work on something I'd never done before," said Wright. "playing receiver, it's good and I've got to continue to work hard."
