NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Two men accused in the October 2010 stabbing death of a Nacogdoches man have pleaded guilty to the crime.

Nathan Welsh accepted a 30-year prison sentence on the murder charge. He also received a two-year prison sentence for revocation of probation, which he will serve concurrently.

Milton Brown accepted a 25-year prison sentence on the murder charge.

According to a previous report, a fight broke out between Welsh and Thomas Grimes, 49, that Brown participated in, which led to Welsh stabbing Grimes.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the two suspects and the victim were acquainted with each other. All three were inside the victim's apartment Monday evening when a disturbance arose and Grimes was fatally stabbed.

Investigators said Grimes was found in a pool of his own blood at 3220 North Street just after 11 p.m.  He later died at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.

Brown was in the courtroom at 10:30 a.m. for his own hearing. It is not yet known if he will plead guilty.
