Bowling birthday

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV)After 96 years, Charlie Brown doesn't plan on slowing down.

"I enjoy any sport," said Brown at his 96th birthday party.

Brown enjoyed the big day at the Oil Bowl in Longview.  You'll find Brown at the Oil Bowl three days a week, bowling in 3 different leagues.

"I've never had in my life a larger group of people that I appreciated like I do the bowlers," said Brown.

The most impressive part isn't Brown's age.  Brown is still really good.  He recently bowled a game of over 200 and currently averages in the 150's.  Brown is trying to get his average back up.

"If I don't do well I still enjoy it," said Brown.  "But I still want a good score."

Brown has always been competitive.  His bowling days began nearly 70 years ago.

"I bowled some in 1942, in World War II when I was in the service for four years," said Brown.  "I didn't really bowl serious until 1973."
