KILGORE, TX (KLTV) - Close to 90 girls are trying to join what is arguably the best dance and drill team in the country.
Tuesday, the second day of pre-training took place at Kilgore College, with the official tryout on Thursday, and the results on Friday.
One of the hopefuls is freshmen Abigail Massey. She has been dancing for the last nine years, but says she has never been involved in something this exciting.
"It means a lot to me just coming from being surrounded the last couple of years in high school from people who were around it so much and just knowing how great of an organization it is," Massey expressed.
Kilgore College Coordinator of Public and Sports Information Chris Craddock tells us this brings young girls from all over to try and be apart of this prestigious group.
"Young women really they come here and they really want to have a chance to be on one of the best drill teams in the country," explained Craddock.
Friday will be the day that around 30 girls will be chosen to join the Rangerettes, and get a chance to perform on a national setting.
