ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man arrested Sunday morning for driving drunk in Angelina County had a felony charge tacked on after he tried to smuggle marijuana into jail, a state trooper said.
Fairbanks Trey Deason III is charged with driving while intoxicated and prohibited substance in a correctional facility.
Trooper Randall Noe said he stopped Deason at 6:27 a.m. on Sunday on U.S. 59 North, right in front of Winston Ranch, because he was speeding. He determined he was intoxicated and placed him under arrest.
At the Angelina County Jail, jailers found a small amount of marijuana inside a pocket in his athletic shorts, Noe said.
