GUN BARREL CITY, TX (KLTV) - An 18-year-old Mabank resident was arrested Tuesday when a drug deal arranged over the phone lead him straight into the handcuffs of authorities.
Officials say Jack Jackson Jr. accidentally called a wrong number when trying to set up a drug deal. The resident who answered the phone alerted the Henderson County Sheriff's Office of the call.
A deputy from the sheriff's office called Jackson and posed as a potential drug buyer using a fake name.
Jackson agreed to meet the deputy in Gun Barrel City with marijuana and prescription pills.
The deputy and narcotics investigators met Jackson for the exchange and arrested him.
Jackson was booked into the Henderson County for possession of dangerous drugs.
He was released after posting $5,000 bond Wednesday.
Jackson brought a female juvenile along with him for the exchange. She was detained by law enforcement and later released to a parent.
