Tyler police investigate attempted robbery of woman

TYLER, TX On 07/15/2011 at approximately 4:00 AM, the Tyler Police Department was notified of a Robbery of an Individual that occurred at about 3:30 AM in the 100 block of S. Bruck. The victim, a 62 year old white female, was walking to work on S. Bruck when the suspect approached her and attempted to take one of her bags she was carrying. The victim yelled for help and the suspect fled in an unknown direction. The victim then ran away and fell causing minor lacerations to her head and right arm. The victim was then transported to Trinity Mother Francis Hospital where she was treated for the injuries sustained when she fell. The suspect was described as a black male, between 20 and 25 years of age, 6'01" tall, 130-150 lbs, dark complexion, wearing a black toboggan or "doo rag", green and white polo shirt and dark blue jeans. The case is currently still being investigated.
