GILMER, TX (KLTV) - Curtis Brown once called Gilmer Buckeye Stadium home. The Steelers third round pick returned to the field Tuesday to help out his old coach at the 5th Annual East Texas Passing Academy.
Brown was a star at Gilmer and with the Texas Longhorns. Now he's ready to shine for the six time Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers.
"I'm thankful that every level of my football, Gilmer to Texas and then Pittsburgh," said Brown. "Just three world class programs."
Brown would like to get his N.F.L. career started. That won't be possible until the lockout ends. Instead he's been working out with other pros in Florida.
"I'm excited since the lockouts been talked about coming to an end," said Brown. "I'm starting to get antsy, just nervous. I'm just ready to get out there work and improve and help out the team as much as I can."
