NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Nacogdoches Police arrested two men Monday morning after uncovering approximately 860 pounds of marijuana in a horse trailer.
According to the report, police pulled over a 2007 Chevy pickup pulling a horse trailer at 6:20 a.m., on the 2000 block of Northwest Stallings Drive, because of defective trailer lights.
Officers got consent to search the vehicle and trailer and found 860 pounds of marijuana in a hidden compartment in the storage area of the trailer, according to the report.
Officers arrested Daniel Murphy Bailey, 26, of Magnolia, and Hector Garza, 33, of Montgomery, for possession of marijuana, a second-degree felony.
As jailers were booking Garza into the Nacogdoches County Jail, they found a small bag of what is believed to be meth in his sock. Garza is also charged with possession of a controlled substance, a state-jail felony.
