1500 day lilies, 600 hibiscus, and 1200 hostas are only the beginning of the thousands of plants Tom Bell has planted in his Hollycreek Village neighborhood.
Bell and his wife Kay moved into their Tyler area home five years ago and Bell immediately began clearing, digging and planting. The common area adjoining his yard has been turned into a beautiful garden for the entire neighborhood to enjoy. Bell has spent $25,000 to $30,000 of his own money on plants, material, and a watering system, and even more hours of hard work on the uncultivated land.
Bell says" it just feels good to see the plants grow and bloom "and know that he helped them along the way.
