LONGVIEW,TX (KLTV)- It was a high octane, classic car, hot-roddin' event -- 'Fuel for the Fight' was held in Longview, Saturday. The event was held to help Keith Ramsey, a Longview cancer patient.
"Its marvelous to come out here and see all these cars and all the people, and support," said Ramsey. "It just amazes me."
Steve Torrence of Kilgore, a NHRA top-fuel driver, organized the benefit. He fought and won his battle against cancer 10 years ago.
"We're adding fuel to the fight for Keith because he's going through a really hard time right now, and we want to do anything we can to help," said Torrence.
"I was diagnosed a month ago, and I've already started chemo-therapy; this is a really big surprise--unbelievable," said Ramsey.
All of the money raised from Saturday's car show will go to help Ramsey with his medical bills. A blood drive is scheduled for Sunday at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Longview.
