ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A Lufkin man has pleaded guilty to kidnapping his ex-wife under gunpoint in January, accepting a 15-year prison sentence.

Kendrick Dundre Johnson, 25, pleaded guilty to the crime on July 6.

According to a previous KTRE report, Lufkin Police officers responded to the 100 block of Broaddus Street in reference to a 911 call of a possible kidnapping. The caller stated a man had kicked in her door and took a 26-year-old woman, Johnson's ex-wife, from her house.

As officers were arriving, the caller gave a vehicle description. Officers saw the suspect vehicle parked in a driveway on Broaddus Street. The vehicle was occupied.

Officers ordered Johnson out of the vehicle. Johnson fled on foot. After chasing the suspect for about a minute, officers immediately returned to the vehicle where they found the victim handcuffed inside. She was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and released. A handgun was also found in the vehicle.

Officers searched the nearby area for two hours but could not locate Johnson.

Kendrick's brother, 23-year-old Jeremy Johnson, of Lufkin was found in the vehicle with the victim. He was arrested for aggravated kidnapping.

Police arrested Johnson three days later after learning he was at a residence on Warren Avenue.

Jury selection for Jeremy Johnson's charge is scheduled for Aug. 8.
