TYLER, TX (KLTV) - 28-year-old Brandon Laird is in critical condition after an apparent self-inflicted gunshot to the face yesterday.
Police are not saying much about the shooting today, except that it was self inflicted.
One woman who knows Brandon says this is not something he would do on purpose.
"He was bubbly, happy go lucky, we loved him he fit right into our family when he came to our house," said Susan Watson, Brandon's friend.
This is how Watson describes Brandon the first time she met him.
Six months the Marine recruiter came to her house when her son Craig decided to join the Marines.
"He looks up to him, he loves to be around him, he was actually suppose to hang out with him this weekend," said Susan.
Susan says she could not believe the news when they heard that Brandon had apparently shot himself.
"We just couldn't picture anything like this ever happening to him and we didn't know what was going on, we're still kind of stunned," said Watson.
Police say as of now they know the incident was self-inflicted.
Police have now indicated that the self-inflicted shot was intentional.
