BOYNTON BEACH, FL (CNN) - A decorated police officer from Florida finds himself in trouble with the law.
David Britto was named the Boynton Beach Police "Officer of the Year" in 2010.
Now he's accused of dealing drugs from 2009 through March of this year.
Authorities say Britto was caught with 500-grams of methamphetamine.
Britto has been with the Boynton Beach department since 2006.
Last November, he performed CPR on a two-year-old who nearly drowned in a swimming pool.
If convicted, the 28-year-old could face life behind bars.
