RAINS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The Rains County Sheriff's Office conducted raids on two marijuana growing sites in the last week.
The first took place in a heavily-wooded area early Friday morning in northern Rains County near the Hopkins County line.
Rains County Sheriff's Deputies along with DPS Troopers eradicated nearly 5000 plants.
The second operation had plants growing in a heavily-wooded north of Point. More than 6000 plants were pulled from this site.
Officials say it was apparent the suspects had been operating this field for a while, based on worn trails and established campsites.
The investigation on the parties involved is ongoing by DPS investigators.
