TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Even with weather in the triple digits, thousands of East Texans still made it out to the Wings Over Tyler Air Show.
The Wings Over Tyler Committee says they had over 20,000 people in attendance.
The most talked about parts of the event were the Pearl Harbor re-enactment, which they said they hope to do again, and the parachutist who waved an American flag all the way to the ground.
"It was just great the patriotism out here was great opening the show with the large flag with the national anthem really set the pace and set the tone," said Carolyn Verver, Historic Aviation Memorial Museum.
"We had a really good turn out and in spite of the hot weather we were so happy that we had that I was afraid that the heat might keep people away and you know Texas weather I kept praying that it might be a little cooler but that didn't happen but we were very pleased with the turnout," Randa Conner, Jet Center GM.
Talks of an air show for next year are already in the works, meetings could start as soon as next week.
