LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV ) - An East Texas soldier received a boisterous welcome home on Friday.
Army Specialist Randa Polk of Longview has completed a tour in Afghanistan and was surprised with hugs and cheers at East Texas Regional Airport.
"I didn't think I was going to make it, but I finally get to have a holiday at home, so that's pretty exciting," said Specialist Randa Polk.
Specialist Polk has been in the Army for three years and is about to be stationed in Louisiana.
"She was home in April, she got two weeks leave in April; but it still wasn't long enough, said Randa's Dad, Randy.
Specialist Polk will be back home for a month, and says she's already looking forward to some crawfish.
