SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - About 20,000 East Texas students are about to get some help with their school supplies, thanks to the annual School Supply Train in Smith County.
Here are some of the items needed: notebooks, pencils, glue and other school supplies.
Drop-off locations include nine fire stations as well as credit unions and churches in the area.
PATH is hosting the drive, and organizers say supplies collected will be distributed to teachers at about 60 Smith County schools, "We want children to be able to succeed with those items that they need and those are paper and pencils and crayons and those kind of items," said Beck Duncan with PATH.
