TYLER, TX (KLTV) - An East Texas dog who was left untreated for more than a year, has lost its leg.
Harley had been walking on a broken leg so long it had fused in the wrong position.
The SPCA rescued him, but a specialist in Dallas still had to amputate the leg. He said it was too far gone to be repaired.
"I drove him to Dallas yesterday and he saw the vets and they looked at his leg and basically felt like it was not in his best interest to try to save his leg," said Deborah Dobbs President of the SPCA.
Dobbs says the recovery time on an amputation is much quicker than reconstruction.
