AUSTIN, TX (KLTV) - The Texas House has approved a bill criminalizing intrusive security pat-downs at airports.
The measure was filed by representative David Simpson of Longview.
The bill makes it a criminal offense for security to touch a person's sexual organs and other sensitive areas.
On Monday morning, a Senate committee passed a new version of the bill that gives officials wide latitude to conduct the searches without breaking the law.
Supporters say the changes make the bill unenforceable.
It now goes to the full Senate on Tuesday.
