TITUS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - A horrifying accident on an East Texas interstate has claimed the lives three members of a Rockwall family.

According to the Texarkana DPS, the accident happened around 3:25 on Saturday on I-30 at mile marker 174 near CR 3445, just north of Cookville.

Troopers say an 18 wheeler "freightliner" was in a main lane of traffic, when an eastbound 2009 Hyundai slammed into the back of it. Traffic on the interstate was backed up from an earlier accident in the area.

Leah Eason of Rockwall, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene.

James Eason, 30, and their one-year-old son, Luke, died at Titus Regional Medical Center.

3-year-old Jace was flown to Children's Hospital in Dallas. He is listed in stable condition.

The Eason's were school teachers.
