Texas' Biggest Fan Stops in East Texas

The biggest fan in Texas made a stop in Tyler this morning. It was part of TXU Energy's statewide Energy Awareness Tour. Students at Peete Elementary School got the chance to learn about renewable energy by doing hands-on experiments. TXU says the fan is 120 feet long and 14,000 pounds. To give you an idea of how big that is: the wind blade is one-third the size of a football field. The Energy Awareness Tour also teaches students how wind produces electricity. TXU is the largest buyer of wind power in Texas and the Southwest.
