GLADEWATER, TX (KLTV) - East Texans are asked to come out on Saturday for a fallen soldier's final trip home.
Chief Warrant Officer Bradley Gaudet died in Afghanistan following a helicopter crash.
On Friday, leaders from several East Texas communities came together to make sure Gaudet receives the hero's welcome he deserves.
Gaudet's body will be escorted from Dallas to Gladewater by officers and members of the Patriot Guard.
Every town along Hwy 80 from Terrell to Gladewater will be notified shortly before the procession comes through the area, so they can give due honor.
Late Saturday evening, organizers expect that thousands will be lining the Hwy 80 route in something that has become a Texas tradition of honor.
East Texans have come out in great numbers in the past to honor our fallen heroes---holding flags, saluting, and shedding tears over those who they did not know, but honored for their service.
Gaudet's body will arrive in Dallas around 3:20 on Saturday.
The procession will be coming down Hwy 80 from Terrell and should arrive in Gladewater by 6pm.
Funeral services will begin at 11am at First Baptist Church of Gladewater on Monday.
