NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - A Nacogdoches woman died Tuesday evening following a four-vehicle wreck on Southwest Stallings Drive in Nacogdoches.
According to the Nacogdoches Police report, a pickup truck was southbound at 5:48 p.m. on the 1800 block of Southwest Stallings Drive and crossed into the northbound lanes, striking a Chevrolet Lumina, driven by Cherylee Anne Silva, 61. A semi-truck then struck the Lumina and the pickup hit another semi-truck in the northbound lanes.
Silva was pronounced dead at a Nacogdoches hospital.
Nacogdoches Police are on the scene investigating the wreck and will be there for several hours, meaning inside lanes on both sides are closed. Police are asking motorists to avoid the area for the next several hours to relieve congestion.
Police will release names and conditions of the other people involved in the wreck on Wednesday morning.
Ms. Silva was pronounced dead at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.
The Nacogdoches Police Department Traffic Division is currently performing a reconstruction of the accident scene and will be on the scene for the next several hours. The inside lanes of both northbound and southbound traffic in this area are closed at this time. Motorists are asked to avoid this area for the next several hours, as traffic is extremely congested in this area. If travel in this area is absolutely necessary, utilize extreme caution.
The names of other drivers, injured persons and information on the accident will not be available until in the morning, when another media advisory will be issued.
