Bench trial set Pilgrims Pride case

MOUNT PLEASANT, TX (KLTV) - A bench trial is set for 9:00 am Thursday in federal court in Marshall in a case of Pilgrims Pride Chicken growers suing the company.

The City of Clinton, Arkansas filed the complaint in the Eastern District of Texas on behalf of former chicken growers who own property in four states including Texas.

The complaint alleges violations of the packers and stockers act. Pilgrims has denied the allegations.

Pilgrims Pride filed for bankruptcy in 2008.
