HARRISON COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Sheriff Tom McCool and several Harrison County Deputies on June 8, 2011, oversaw the destruction of seized drugs, and drug related paraphernalia with a street value of approximately $5,500,000.00. These drugs were seized inside Harrison County during drug interdiction activities, traffic stops, and warrant searches over the last few years. The destroyed drugs included approximately 450 pounds of marijuana and approximately 486 pounds of cocaine, meth-amphetamine, and heroin, along with an assortment of items used to smoke or ingest the drugs. The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Harrison County District Attorney's Office gave Sheriff McCool the "go-ahead" to destroy the drugs after the court cases have been finalized.
