JACKSONVILLE, TX (KLTV) - Emergency crews responded to the scene of a multiple fatality accident on Hwy 175 about 3 miles west of Jacksonville on Thursday afternoon.
The wreck was reported just after 12:07 pm.
According to a DPS trooper on the scene, 74-year-old Donald Duhon of Wills Point, was driving one of the vehicles involved in the wreck.
A Trooper on the scene says it appears Duhon's truck crossed the center line, striking a vehicle driven by 17-year-old Patricia de Luna, head-on. Luna was the mother of a 9-month-old.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members of Duhon say he was on medication for diabetes, and sometimes his legs would go numb. There is no official confirmation that this was a factor in the accident.
Duhon's body has been sent to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy to determine if any drugs or alcohol may have been involved.
Officials say there was a small dog in Duhon's truck that survived the accident.
