Convicted rapist, Felix Kauffman was sentenced to nine life sentences Friday in a Tyler court. The sentences were the maximum allowed by law. In August, Kauffman pleaded guilty to 3 counts of aggravated sexual assault and 6 counts of burglary of a habitat with intent to commit sexual assault. The state chose to prosecute those crimes individually, handing down nine separate convictions and nine possible punishments. Hearing from victims today, Judge Kerry Russell decided on those life sentences, stacking five of them, meaning Kauffman will not be eligible for parole until he is 155-years-old. Kauffman began terrorizing women in Tyler back in March of 2000. His last assault occurred in November, 2002.
