Fire Roasted Chilies with Cream Cheese
Eddie Deen's Fire Roasted Chilies with Cream Cheese is a menu favorite and easy to prepare. The Applewood bacon gives this appetizer a unique texture and flavor.
Ingredients:
6 jalapenos, halved and de-seeded
12 strips Applewood Smoked Bacon
1 1/2 cream cheese
12 toothpicks
PREPARATION:
You can roast chilies under medium heat on the broiler, on a very hot grill, or simply deep fry them. The idea behind roasting is to lightly burn the peel, but not the meat of the pepper to bring out the wonderful flavors.
Fill the halved jalapenos with the cream cheese and wrap with the bacon. Secure with a toothpick.
Fry in a deep fryer for 2-3 minutes or until the bacon is crispy.
Enjoy!
