COPY-Elyria man arrested for child sex trafficking

Stephen D. Anthony, Special Agent in Charge of the Cleveland Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), for the Northern District of Ohio, announces the arrest of Timothy Davis, age 42, of Elyria, Ohio on a Federal charge of Sex Trafficking a Child. 

Davis was arrested on June 1, 2011at a residence in Elyria by members of the Crimes Against Children Task Force which includes the Cleveland Division of Police, Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department, and the Cleveland FBI.  The task force received assistance from the Elyria Police Department.

An investigation by the task force, which focuses on human trafficking of children for reasons of prostitution, showed that Davis was responsible for the prostitution of a sixteen year old female to perform commercial sex acts.

Davis will appear today in United States District Court, Cleveland, Ohio for his initial appearance on the charge.  Sex Trafficking of Children carries a penalty of imprisonment for not less than 10 years or for life.
