Crossdressing woman indicted on burglary charges

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The woman who dressed up as a man and broke into a home has been indicted by a grand jury.

Maricela Rodriguez was indicted on Burglary of a Habitation charges for breaking into a home to collect a large debt back in April.

At the time of the break-in, a mother and her three daughters were inside the home in the 200 block of Fairmont.

Police say Rodriguez, who was disguised as a man, terrorized the Banda family that April morning, but the mother and three daughters managed to get away with only a scratch on the back of one of the girls.

Rodriguez's bond has been set at a Half-Million Dollars and she is being held in the Smith County Jail on an immigration hold.

Authorities say she was deported to Mexico once already back in 2008.
