Woman, 74, walks 2 miles after being abducted, tied to tree

CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY (FOX19) - Police agencies on both sides of the river are looking into an abduction.

Police say a man forced Ann Lee Ernst, 74, into her car at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon between 2:45 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Crestview Hills Town Center.

He allegedly went through her purse before driving her to Miami Township, in Hamilton County.

The suspect then took Ernst behind Backscheider Transportation, where he tied her to a tree and gagged her in the woods.

She managed to escape about two hours later and walked about two miles to Cleves Waterworks to get help.

The woman was able to give police a description of a man. Police say he's a slender white man, about 6'2" and 165 pounds and between 30 and 40 years old, with bug eyes and buck teeth, armed with a knife and gun. He was wearing a jungle-style, army hat with a brim all the way around, baggy green cargo pants and white tennis shoes. He was last seen driving Ernst's 2001 Ford Taurus. The license number is KY 114DJM.
