Rusk Co. stats for Click or Ticket

Released by The Rusk County Sheriff's Department:

The Rusk County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division is participating in the Click It/Ticket Program, and have stats for May 23, to May 31, 2011. The Patrol Deputies issued citations for the following violations:

85 - Speeding

14 – Safety Belts

15 - Child Safety Belts

9 – FMFR (Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility)

7 - No Drivers License

The program will continue until June 5, 2011. Rusk County Sheriff's Office will receive the final stats for the program on Tuesday, June 7, 2011.

Patrol Lt. Kevin Roy, stated this program is designed to increase the safety of all motorist traveling in Rusk County. The Deputies are increasing their awareness of all traffic violations including the need for safety belts. It is the goal of the RCSO for everyone to enjoy the holidays, but at the same time all citizens should obey all traffic laws for the safety of all drivers and the community. Those who choose to disregard Texas Traffic Laws will be issued a citation.

Sheriff Danny R. Pirtle stated it is the responsibility of all Law Enforcement Officers to enforce traffic laws set by the State of Texas. The laws are designed to keep citizens safe and secure as they travel on public roadways. We will continue to enforce this law due to the safety issues of all occupants in a motor vehicle. My prayers go out to all those who may have lost a loved one in traffic accidents during this Memorial Holiday.

Helmets that advertise lowering the impact of hits, and possibly reduce the amount of concussions, come with a hefty price-tag.
