Man Wanted During Standoff Found Weeks Later

A man who escaped from Tyler Police when they tried to serve a warrant, has finally been picked up by federal authorities.

Victor Wallyn Campbell was arrested by U.S Marshals in Tyler Wednesday night on warrants including assault, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

When Tyler Police tried to arrest him in August, a woman at a home told police Campbell was inside and wouldn't come out. However, he escaped through a back door.

Campbell is now in the Smith County Jail on bonds totalling $40,000 dollars.
