New Technology Providing Opportunity To Students

New technology is helping some TISD students get the education they deserve. Linda Timaeus teaches a class of 6th, 7th and 8th graders at Moore Middle School in Tyler. She's excited because of a new classroom resource called a video relay. It's a special web cam program designed to make it easier for hearing impaired students to communicate. Timaeus says it not only helps students learn., it helps prepare them for the future.
"The best part is we can teach them now how to use these things," Timaeus said. "Then as they grow up its a natural part of life."
TISD is one of only about 12 districts in Texas that are set up with the video relay technology. Longview ISD should have the system up and running within a few weeks.
