Kelly Springfield To Layoff Workers

As many as 200 people could soon be out of a job at Kelly-Springfield in Tyler.

Steelworkers representatives say Goodyear has cut their tire production by 11,000 tires a day.

The Tyler plant makes the smaller, "lower end" tires that Goodyear hasn't been able to sell leaving them with an excessive inventory.

As a result, plants, including Kelly Tyler will have to lay-off workers by November 15th. Union members are still hopeful this will be a short term layoff.
