Repo man shot in ETX

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - An employee of East Texas Auto Recovery in Longview says that one of their repo drivers has been shot after attempting to repossess a car on Birdsong Street in Longview.

Longview police confirm to KLTV 7 tonight that Joseph Castillo was shot in the arm while trying to repossess the car. Another repo man that was with Castillo was injured in the leg by glass that was shattered when the shots hit the car. Both men were treated and released from Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview Tuesday night.

Kristie Brian, with Longview Police Department, says that the owner of the vehicle didn't want the repo man to take the vehicle and shot him. Police also say a handgun was used.

The name of the alleged shooter was not being released on Tuesday night, but police say he'll be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Longview police would not confirm if the alleged shooter lived at the home in the 1300 block of Birdsong Street where the shooting took place.
