Monday Mention: Storm was one of deadliest in Missouri history

Good Afternoon East Texas!

Forecasters say that the recent tornado in Joplin was one of the deadliest in Missouri history. Winds up to 200 miles per hour tore apart more than 2,000 homes. We hear from some of the lucky survivors of this storm at 5.

We also speak to an individual who was in Joplin at the time of the storms, who held on to a pipe in his bathroom while his home was destroyed around him. At 6, you can hear all the details of his traumatic experience.

For the second time in 3 weeks, a bank in Waskom has been robbed. Waskom schools were put on lockdown during both of the robberies. More details at 5 and 6.

Some East Texans are choosing to put storm shelters in their homes. KLTV's Ian Smith takes a look at a new home built with a storm shelter below ground at 6.

The woman who died in a rollover accident in Kilgore on Friday afternoon has been identified. More details at 5 and 6.
