Two East Texans travel across Texas to fight cancer

TYLER, TX (KLTV) – An East Texas brother and sister didn't just pay lip service to supporting a cause they care about.

The two former Tyler Police Officers put their feet to the pavement for 857 miles. Allan Crosby and his sister, Audrey Crosby Spies, returned to East Texas today after their trek across the Texas.

As part of their Cops Crushing Cancer walk, the two walked from Ark-La-Tex to El Paso in honor of their sister, Jaqueline, who died from cancer.

"As a retired police officer, I recommend it to any police officer who has lost faith in humanity. On the walk across Texas, we met so many good people who not only made sure it was uneventful on the bad side, but also eventful on the good side. We met the people and saw the state of Texas the way we wanted," says Crosby.

The money raised is going into the ETMC Cancer Institute Remembrance fund. It's an ongoing program that is accepting donations all the time.
