Biker from "Run for the Wall" injured in Greenwood

GREENWOOD, LA (KSLA)- Caddo Sheriff's deputies responded to an accident involving one motorcycle that is part of a bikers event called "Run for the Wall". The accident happened around 3:20 p.m. Sunday, in the eastbound lanes of I-20 near the truck weigh station.

Caddo Sheriff's Office says one female biker was hurt when she lost control of her bike and slid down the interstate. She suffered abrasions but non of her injuries are considered life-threatening at this time.

"Run for the Wall" is an event in which 700 bikers are participating to bring awareness about  POWs and MIAs.

Bikers riding from Los Angeles were scheduled to enter Louisiana about 3:00 pm in route to the Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington DC for Memorial Day. 

An event called "Salute Our Hero's" also took place as part of that ride that honors the memory of soldier Lance Cpl. Dakota Ray Huse from Greenwood, Louisiana who was killed in action on November 9, 2010 supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
