Sheriff's Deputy Died from Suicide, Not Shootout

He was believed to have been killed in a shootout. Now, the death of Anderson County Sheriff's Deputy, Shelby Green, has been ruled a suicide.

Justice of the Peace James Wesley says Green died of a single gunshot wound to the chest.

The night of his death, he radioed that he was in pursuit of a possible burglary suspect. When fellow officers found Green's patrol unit, he was dead, and numerous gunshots appeared to have been fired at the car.

Now, it's believed Green fired those rounds himself. More details won't be released until they're presented to a grand jury.
