Ian Smith joined KLTV in May of 2011. He is excited to be a part of the East Texas News Leader! Originally from Oklahoma, Ian graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in English. Before joining KLTV, Ian interned at KTRK and KRIV in Houston, Texas-experiences he says helped prepare him for the fast-paced life in TV news. Ian also learned what it really takes to be a reporter in today's digital world.
When Ian is not reporting, he loves to travel and spend time with his friends and family. Ian can't seem to get over how nice the people are here in East Texas!
