Victim of mall shooting arrested

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - The victim in a shooting in the mall parking lot has been arrested.

Around 6:45 pm on Wednesday, Tyler Police Department received several calls in reference to a shooting in the Broadway Square Mall parking lot.

Police say a man was trying to sell Xanax to 26-year-old Kevin Williams of Tyler when the two men reportedly started arguing and the alleged dealer started shooting at Williams before driving off and striking Williams with the vehicle.

When police arrived on the scene, Williams was under the influence of drugs. He was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and later arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

The search for the alleged shooter is ongoing. He is described as a black male between 25-30 years old. He is around 5'5" and 175 pounds. He drove away in a maroon Town Car or Cadillac.
