Mall shooting victim dodges bullet but struck by suspect's car

TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Around 6:45 pm on Wednesday, Tyler Police Department received several calls in reference to a shooting in the Broadway Square Mall parking lot.

Officers located a single black male victim, 26-year-old Kevin Williams of Tyler. Williams say he was in the parking lot speaking with a black male acquaintance. He says the individual was trying to sell him some Xanax.

A scuffle ensued at which time the suspect produced a handgun and fired a single round at Mr. Williams.

Williams was not hit.

As the suspect attempted to flee the scene, he struck Williams with his car, giving him several abrasions on his hands and knees.

Williams was transported to ETMC for treatment. There were no other injuries or property damage located.

Suspect is a black male, 25-30 years of age. He has jail house tattoos on his arms. Short black hair, a goatee, 5'5" to 5'6", 175 lbs. He fled in a maroon, 4-door Cadillac or Town Car.
